How did Belle's birthday go? Well, a great title for the day would be "Finding Nemo" as that's what we did for most of it. Mommy had gone to the Disney store the night before to find a Nemo doll, only to find it closed for remodeling. Another store was called, and it was going to close permanently in 2 days, and was closed for the evening. So, early on Belle's birthday, Mommy got up, got the girls up, fed, and dressed, and set off for the Disney store. Thinking the closing sale was going to be a mess, Mommy drove with a purpose- to find Nemo. When we got there, the "liquidation" was a joke- 10% off. We were the only ones in the store. Anyhow, Nemo was found and purchased, and Belle happily carried him out of the store. Nemo accompanied us to Wal-Mart, on a futile mission to find party hats. After a thorough search, we came out with 2 cans of spaghetti sauce. Back at home, Nemo and Belle watched his movie- while eating fish sticks. (Mommy's idea- Belle seems to think it's a form of chicken.) Then, nap time. Sort of. Quinn was on a crying spree and a napping strike. This is where things got a little fuzzy for Mommy. We (including Nemo, of course) went to pick up the Finding Nemo birthday cake. And continue to look for party hats. (Don't ask me why this was so important, I plead "thebaby'sbeencryingallday" insanity.) Mommy could not for the life of her picture the layout of the grocery store she's been shopping in for the last 5 years. By this time, Belle and Nemo are not listening to any type of direction, and Mommy keeps telling herself "it's her birthday, don't make her cry" repeatedly. We survived the grocery store, but as soon as we got home, Quinn was getting pushed around, and time-out was in order. Sitting still was impossible for Belle (No Nemo in time-out) and Mommy was at the end of the road. Solution: sacrifice. Mommy took an old table, sawed off the wheels, and a time-out chair was born. Wait- there's more... Dinner was made, and we were waiting for some people to pick-up the old carseat before we could sit down and eat. They finally came and we finally got to eat our pasta and salad. During dinner, Quinn choked, puked, and spilled a glass of water. (Puke for Mommy, water on Daddy.) Belle again insisted we light the candles and sing twice. She got Bee Movie again- (Mommy's fault) and an inflatable jumpster, which was promptly inflated. Belle bounced her way past bedtime, and slept like a rock. Happy Birthday, Belle- I love you, and I'm glad it will be another year until we have to do this again.
