A Little Bit of a Big Zoo...

An explanation is warranted and will follow. First- a goal for our trip was to spend a day at the big zoo. The rain was not a deterrent, as much of the zoo is indoors. To put it simply, getting there itself was complicated and involved. (Number of passengers to number of seats in the car to number of carseats blocking seats in the car.) A vehicle was borrowed specifically for the purpose of the trip. Upon our arrival, we noted the time of the dolphin show. We went down one trail of the zoo, and then proceeded to the dolphins. After the show, we started back to visit another trail, when we noticed zoo personnel stationed in front of every exit. Curious, we asked one of them why- turned out a severe thunderstorm with large hail was about to strike the area. Everything was shutdown for the rest of the day, except a few marine exhibits, the food court, and the gift shop. We ate, shopped, then braved the rain and ran to the car. But, hey, we saw dolphins and fish! It was sad, but we'll try again next time, and make sure the forecast is sunny. It does make for a good story...
